Announcement

Institut d’Astrophysique Spatiale (CNRS/Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay) is pleased to announce the 10th Coronal Loops Workshop, to be held in Paris, at Cité Internationale Universitaire, from 28 June to 01 July 2022 (Tuesday to Friday lunchtime). The Coronal Loops Workshops are a series of highly focused biennial meetings dealing with the observation and modelling of magnetically confined solar plasma. The meeting in 2022 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, which was inaugurated in Orsay in 2002.

The SOC is composed of Pradeep Chitta (MPS), Ineke De Moortel (University of Saint-Andrews), Louise Harra (PMOD), Jim Klimchuk (GSFC), Paolo Pagano (University Palermo), Susanna Parenti (IAS, chair), and Durgesh Tripathi (IUCAA).

Confirmed invited speakers: Patrick Antolin (UNN), Raphael Attié (GSFC), Fédéric Auchère (IAS), Cosima Breu (MPS), Thomas Howson (Saint-Andrews), Clara Froment (Orléans), and Anna Malanushenko (HAO).

Important dates

  • 2022-04-01: pre-registration and abstract submission open.
  • 2022-04-22: abstract submission deadline; deadline for asking a registration fees waiver.
  • 2022-05-10: SOC feedback on selected abstracts; validation of registrations; payment open.
  • 2022-06-07: registration fees payment deadline.

Contributions format

The format for contributed talks is 12 minutes followed by 3 minutes of questions. Invited talks are 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of questions. The maximum size for posters is A0, in portrait or landscape format. We will provide the drawing pins.

Registration

Abstract submissions (for talks and posters) and pre-registrations are now open. Pre-registrations will be validated after the selection of abstracts by the SOC. While abstracts are not required for participation, preference will be given to those who submit abstracts, in order to limit the number of participants to 80. Payment information will be provided once registrations are validated.

To submit an abstract, please first create a SciencesConf account if you do not already have one. Then log in to the website, and click on Abstract submission in the main menu on the left. To register, click on Registration.

The registration fee of 350€ includes the workshop, a welcome reception, coffee breaks, lunches from Tuesday to Thursday, and the conference dinner.

We have planned for a limited number of registration fees waivers, targeted at young researchers and researchers from low-income areas. If you are interested, please send your request in an e-mail to loops10@sciencesconf.org with Subject including “[Fee waiver request]” before 22 April 2022.
